Behind the Lens
Welcome to my landscape, nature, and wildlife photography blog.
Here you'll find all of the latest images, and commentary by Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire landscape photographer Rob Thorley Photography. Read on to find out about where I've been, and what landscape, nature, and wildlife subjects I've been photographing.
Autumn at Barlaston Downs
A fantastic morning of landscape photography at the Barlaston Downs Banks as I capture some lovely autumn colours and mist.
Autumn at Cannock Chase
With low expectations I head over to Cannock Chase to see what if any autumn colours are on offer.
Fantasy Mushrooms
With my enthusiasm cup full to the brim I headed off up to Consall Valley with my camera, and torch to see what I could achieve when it comes to light painting mushrooms.
Cregennan Lakes
A first visit to Cregennan Lakes for a spot of landscape photography in the Eryri National Park, Wales.
The Wolseley Centre
A visit to the Wolseley Centre to get some images of the Kingfisher was the main reason of today’s visit. There was also an opportunity to photograph a couple of Highland Cows that had been released for grazing along the River Trent.
Birds In Flight
Whilst landscape photography is my passion, nature and wildlife photography are an occasional mistress. Armed only with my enthusiasm the Nikon D500 and my YouTube crash course I headed out to a local nature reserve to try some wildlife photography.
